How do I find the right online coach for programming?
Online Coaching and Programming seems to be a big boom right now in the Powerlifting world.. But how do I know if it's right for me? There are so many coaches out there right now that all have different philosophies and training methods. Something that I would recommend is finding a coach
who can relate to you specifically, and knows how to customize to you individually. From my coaching experience, everybody is different.. some people can handle TONS of volume on one lift in particular and the others ones not so much. Find a coach that targets weaknesses in your off season. Don't be afraid to ask somebody how they train people and gather as much info before you jump in. The accountability aspect of a coach is the most important for yourself. I will tell you right now that there is no secret recipe to Greatness in any program. From a coaching standpoint, we want you to TRUST THE PROCESS!!! It's perfectly okay to ask why we are doing a certain thing, but try and look at the long run. YOU WILL NOT ALWAYS LIFT HEAVY so get that in your head beforehand. There are many different approaches to getting stronger but lifting heavy every single week will not get you there. All in all, know what you want in a coach and don't be afraid to collaborate in a game plan for your personal goals. Find a coach you can relate to lifting wise and take a crack at it. No matter what you will gain experience. Either the way they approach getting stronger works for you, or it doesnt, you will know what is best next time!
